Sparkling Lavender Lemonade

There's no contest, lavender lemonade is my favorite drink. While I do occasionally mix it up with a lavender mimosa here and there, I always return to my faithful favorite. The other day I ordered a lavender lemonade at one of my favorite restaurants, Cafe Chloe. Theirs is delicious, but a little overly sweet for me. I've always enjoyed my homemade lavender simple syrup the best, so I think it is time to share. My go-to recipe is super easy and takes 10 minutes to make! After you make the lavender syrup, it will keep for several weeks if sealed tightly and refrigerated.

What You'll Need:
1 C white sugar
1 C filtered water
1 TBSP dried lavender flowers
Trader Joe's Sparkling Lemonade

In a small saucepan, combine the sugar,water and lavender flowers. Bring to a boil and let boil for 2 minutes. After a couple minutes, remove from the heat and let the lavender steep for about 10 minutes.

The most important part is to make sure you strain it well. No one likes chunky syrup.

After the lavender is done steeping, carefully strain into your jar (or whatever you are storing your syrup in). Discard the strained lavender flowers and seal the jar. Allow the syrup to cool overnight. 

Mix one TBSP of syrup with about 6 oz of lemonade. That's the ratio I prefer, if you like it a little sweeter or less sweet, make whatever mix feels right to you!
